Managing the Learning Environment

Description:

 

 

This is a continuation of AGEE 430, Methods and Materials for teaching Agriculture, but places much more responsibility on the student to locate, analyze, and synthesize information that will be valuable in teaching middle and high school agriculture classes.

All assignments and class materials are posted on WebCT Vista at http://vista.wvu.edu.

Objective:

 

 

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to manage the learning environment so that the utmost learning can occur in the time allotted.

Evaluation:

 

 

Grades will be based upon participation in and preparation and presentation of learning activities called for in each topic.  Use of time, creativity, English usage, grammar, spelling and neatness will be considered in assigning grades.  Class participation is required.  The final grade will be determined as follows:

Assignments:

 

 

 Assignment deadlines will be strictly enforced. All assignments are due by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on the ASSIGNMENT DEADLINE date.  NO ASSIGNMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE DUE DATE UNLESS PRIOR APPROVAL HAS BEEN GRANTED BY THE INSTRUCTOR.  Deadline exemptions will be limited to medical/family emergencies, etc.

 All assignments should reflect the students best individual efforts. 

1.     Assignments must be turned in using the WebCT Vista.  With the exception of the discussion board responses, all assignments should be completed in Word and uploaded to WebCT Vista (This retains basic formatting and makes the assignments easier to read and grade.).

 ALL ASSIGNMENTS MUST HAVE THE STUDENT’S NAME, DATE, AND ASSIGNMENT NAME/NUMBER IN THE PAPER’S HEADING.

Participation:

 

 

 The participation grade will be based upon your responses to the "question of the week."  Each week a question will be posted on the discussion board.  During the initial week the question is posted, you will be expected to react to the question.  The week following the posting of the question, you must read all responses to the question of the week and react to the "official response" as well as your peers' comments.
