Technology Transfer

Kenneth J. Semmens, Extension Specialist-Aquaculture
WVU Extension Service

The purpose of this objective is to deliver information generated by the project's research. The Extension effort also will conduct farm-level research with the cooperation of producers and other institutions engaged in aquaculture teaching and research. A yield verification program designed to document production efficiency of rainbow trout in flowing water systems will be conducted at two working farms in southern West Virginia. Jonathan Eya with West Virginia State College, and Julie Delabbio with Bluefield State College are engaged in this program. Julie Bebak, a DVM with The Conservation Fund's Freshwater Institute, will sample up to 20 public and private trout production facilities in a health survey designed to assist with hatchery health certification.
