Animal and Food Science
- Emphasizes animal production and management, food sciences, nutrition, breeding and genetics, and physiology and reproduction. Pre-Veterinary/Pre-Medicine - A pre-professional program designed to prepare students for admission to graduate and professional schools in the areas of (1) graduate studies in animal breeding, genetics, biochemistry, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, and food sciences, (2) veterinary medicine, (3) human medicine, (4) dentistry, pharmacy, and other allied health programs. Biochemistry - Prepares students for careers requiring a strong background in basic principles of the physical and life sciences. Students will be prepared for professional employment in the expanding fields of agricultural and environmental sciences, the chemical industry, the health-care industry, and in biotechnology. Minor in Food Science and Technology - The minor in Food Science and Technology is for students interested in pursuing careers in food industry. The students will gain knowledge of food processing, engineering, chemistry, microbiology and marketing.
