Graduates of the Davis College receive the education necessary for careers emphasizing the production and distribution of food, wood, and fiber products, the quality of life for families and individuals, the protection of environmental quality and the management, utilization, and conservation of our soil, water, forests, wildlife, domestic animals, food, and fiber. There are several areas of strength in the College, including the opportunity students have to gain hands-on knowledge and skills through laboratories on University farms and forests.
Also unique to the Davis College is the commitment to faculty advising. Students are assigned a faculty advisor upon admission to the College who, in most cases, will remain their advisor throughout completion of their degree.
Careers requiring knowledge of agriculture, forestry, natural resources, and consumer sciences are steadily increasing. If our graduates are geographically mobile, the majority find employment within a few months after graduation within their field of study.
