This minor gives students skills aimed specifically at policy issues in environmental and natural resource economics. It can enhance employment opportunities in government agencies and private consulting firms dealing with environmental and natural resource policy or with natural resources firms. The specific minor course requirements are flexible to allow students to create strength in a particular are of experience such as water, air, energy, raw materials, etc.
Fifteen credit hours are required to complete this minor, along with a grade point average of at least 2.0 in courses counted towards the minor. Students must select 15 credit hours of courses with an environmental component: one course on environmental problems or issues (3 credit hours); three courses in environmental and resource economics (9 credit hours); and one course on law, policy, or analysis (3 credit hours).
