Educational Background :

As an environmental microbiologist, I enjoy studying and sharing my knowledge about the beneficial and harmful roles that microorganisms play in our everyday lives. I emphasize the applied aspects of microbiology as related to water, soil, food, wastes, and agriculture in the courses that I instruct. My research efforts focus on the microbiology of aquatic environments, with particular emphasis on the public health significance of waterborne pathogens. For a more detailed view of my background and interests, please examine my biographical sketch/resume. Additional information can be found under the sections on teaching and research interests.
