Teaching:

  • ENVM 341. General Microbiology. PR: CHEM 115. Introductory morphological, cultural, and physiological characteristics of microorganisms; application of microbiology to agriculture, home economics, and health (4 credits).

    Course has two lecture and two laboratory sessions per week and is offered fall and spring terms. Please see

  • ENVM 408. Applied Water Microbiology .PR:ENVM 341 . Microbiology and health hazards associated with surface and ground water intended for consumption, recreation,waste disposal, and agriculture/industry applications (3 credits).   • ENVM 508:Applied Water Microbiology (graduate level). PR:ENVM 341 or consent.Microbiology and health hazards associated with surface and ground water intended for consumption, recreation,waste disposal and agriculture/industry applications (3 credits).   • Other Courses. Special Topics, Directed Readings, and Independent Research offerings are made as needed, usually to individuals or small groups of students (1 to 4 credits).

  • Academic Advising:

    Undergraduate Students.
    Served as academic advisor to approximately 80 students who have completed baccalaureate degree in the Environmental Protection option; currently advisor to approximately 10 undergraduate students in the program. Also serve as acadamic advisor for students majoring in Applied and Environmental Microbiology.

    Graduate Students. Approximately 20 M.S. and 4 Ph.D. students have completed degree requirements in my laboratory.
