Current Research Information System
(CRIS)
The Current Research Information System (CRIS) is the
U.S. Department of Agriculture's documentation and reporting system for
ongoing agricultural, food and nutrition, and forestry research. CRIS
contains over 30,000 descriptions of current, publicly-supported
research projects of the USDA agencies, the State Agricultural
Experiment Stations, the State land-grant colleges and universities,
State schools of forestry, cooperating schools of veterinary medicine,
and USDA grant recipients. All projects performed at the West Virginia
Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, regardless of funding
source, are entered to CRIS.
The database reports on current projects at many
institutions. The participants in CRIS include

The process by which projects submitted through the
West Virginia Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station are reviewed

Proposals submitted to the Experiment Station
requesting funding from Hatch, McIntire-Stennis, or Animal Health funds
will utilize a search of the CRIS database in order to obtain
information on research similar to that being proposed. Searching CRIS
